The NW Youth Careers Expo is a career-exploration experience. This event occurs annually and aims to show students many career opportunities, connect with professionals, ask questions about college and career options, engage in mock interviews and career workshops, and more! The expo’s goal is to help students make informed, confident decisions about their education and career after high school.
Over 6,000 students from 80+ high schools attend will this event, so be prepared for a crowd. Some of the participating high schools include:
- Franklin High School
- Grant High School
- St. Helens High School
- South Salem High School
- Beaverton High School
- Tigard High School
- Tualatin High School
At the 2025 Expo, students will explore:
- Careers in construction, healthcare, design, manufacturing, technology, energy, public service, business, the military and more
- What job seekers need to know about the world of work
- What types of work environments best suit them
- What skills employers are looking for
The event pulls in exhibitors from a variety of fields. Past fields have included: design and construction, manufacturing, human services, military, healthcare, safety, technology and engineering, and postsecondary education. Students are encouraged to explore many of the event’s booths and learn about a variety of fields they may be interested in.
Past exhibitors included workplaces, such as OHSU, Kaiser Permanente, TriMet, City of Portland – Workforce, Oregon Film, Portland General Electric, and many more! Colleges such as Mt. Hood Community College, Portland Community College, and Portland State University have also held exhibits in previous years.
